One of the most highly regarded chamber ensembles of its generation. The members constitute a multinational mix representing four continents: Great Britain, United States, Venezuela, and China. In 2009, the Euclid Quartet was awarded the esteemed “American Masterpieces” grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. In addition, the ensemble has significant global recognition as the first American string quartet to be awarded a top prize at the prestigious Osaka International Chamber Music Competition.

They are heard countless times on Performance Today and on local radio stations throughout the United States. Presently the group is the resident ensemble of the June Chamber Festival at the Kreeger Museum in Washington, D.C.

Among the finest young string quartets performing today. The Quartet was formed in 2008 at the Cleveland Institute of Music and they continue to amaze their listeners with their “high-octane” performances. The all-American quartet has been awarded prizes at nearly every major competition in the United States. They have performed across North America, Europe, and Asia in venues such as Carnegie Hall, The Library of Congress, St. Martin-in-the-Fields, and the Shanghai Oriental Arts Center. Members of the Quartet hold degrees from the Peabody Conservatory, the Cleveland Institute of Music, and the University of Texas at Austin, where they served as the first Graduate String Quartet-in-Residence. They also served as the Graduate Quartet-in-Residence at the Juilliard School. James Dunham is soloist, chamber musician and teacher and active internationally as a recitalist and guest artist. He has collaborated with such renowned artists as Emmanuel Ax, Joshua Bell, Lynn Harrell, Cho-Liang Lin, and members of the American, Guarneri, Juilliard, Takács, and Tokyo Quartets. Mr. Dunham is Professor of Viola at Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music.

A dynamic program that explores the countless fascinating connections between composers, history and the power of musical communication. Judith Ingolfsson and Vladimir Stoupel are both soloists with dedication and musical curiosity for repertoire ranging from the traditional to the unjustly forgotten or neglected with a special focus on music of the 20th Century. As a duo, the artists regularly participate in the world’s most renowned concert series and festivals that include performances in Paris, Krakow, Italy, Berlin, and United States, and other famous venues. Iceland-native Judith Ingolfsson is a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia and the Cleveland Institute of Music. She won the first prize at the renowned International Violin Competition of Indianapolis in 2008. Since then, Ms. Ingolfsson has been Professor of Violin at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart, Germany. Stoupel, a French citizen of Russian birth, resides in Berlin. As a chamber musician, Vladimir Stoupel participates in the New York Philharmonic’s annual chamber music series at Merkin and Avery Fisher Halls and has performed as soloist with various major orchestras. Ingolfsson and Stoupel are artistic directors of the Festival “Aigues-Vives en Musiques” which they founded in southern France.
